LEO WEISSE
Maxlrainer LEO WEISSE is a pale wheat beer left in its natural unfiltered state. It has 5.0% alcohol vol. and 12.5 % wort gravity. This is the ultimate in fruity wheat beer taste and has continually received the DLG GOLD Award year in, year out. LEO WEISSE, with its full round taste and own inimitable character reigns supreme in Bavarian wheat beer realms, the real secret behind it lying in the brewery’s distinct method of producing top-fermented yeast. Even as the beer is being drawn, the gourmet senses the wonderful aroma it develops. Left to mature in the storage cellars, LEO WEISSE is bottled in its cloudy, unfiltered state, thus keeping the malt and yeast constituents fine and nourishing.

HISTORY
Situated 37 miles south of Munich in Upper Bavaria’s romantic Rosenheim district, the MAXLRAIN CASTLE BREWERY is framed by breathtaking Alpine scenery and the awe-inspiring peak of Mount Wendelstein. Since 1636, this historic site has been the birthplace of Bavaria’s most cultivated beers. Today, Master Brewer Sepp Kronast jealously guards the secret processes behind all 15 fine specialty brews—crafting what are recognized as the best and most refined beers in Bavaria, Germany, and possibly the world.
BREWERY & PRODUCTION
The Legacy of Maxlrain: Brewing Excellence Since 1636
Since its first official mention in 1636, the MAXLRAIN CASTLE BREWERY has been a bastion of exclusive brewing. Transitioning from the castle to its dedicated site in 1900, the brewery is now guided by Dr. Erich Prince von Lobkowicz and Master Brewer Josef Kronast. Together, they lead a highly skilled team dedicated to a singular mission: brewing Germany’s finest beer.
Their craft is an uncompromising symphony of 15 specialty varieties—from classical pale lagers and wheat beers to seasonal gems and non-alcoholic options. The secret lies in the purity of their process. Maxlrain sources award-winning hops from an exclusive Hallertau grower and partners with regional farmers to cultivate traditional “old” malting barley. This foundation is elevated by crystal-clear water drawn directly from the brewery’s own private spring.
True quality, however, requires patience. Unlike mass-produced alternatives, every Maxlrain beer is granted up to six weeks to mature. This dedicated storage time allows the flavors to ripen fully, resulting in a full-bodied, distinctively smooth, and rounded taste that has earned nationwide acclaim. At Maxlrain, brewing isn't just a process; it's a centuries-old commitment to the perfect glass.
